Fascinated by the ability of visual metaphors to offer viewers the freedom to discover a personal meaning within a universe of possibilities, I seek in my artistic approach that “play of images” worth a thousand thoughts.
Who we are, how we choose, how we think, and how we feel are the questions that guide me in exploring fundamental themes of the human condition, such as identity, freedom, reason, and emotion.
The “Who am I?” series investigates the complexity of the human being, emphasizing the tension between lucidity and instinct, identity and alienation, fragility and strength, the ephemeral and eternity, faith and doubt, freedom and its illusion.
I shape my artistic vision through unexpected associations of characters and objects, rendered in a realistic register, where recognizable forms acquire symbolic meanings and become vehicles for states, questions, or revelations.
I work in oil, applying the glazing technique, and I build atmosphere through the play of light and shadow contrasts — the chiaroscuro emphasizing, on a conceptual level, the tension between the visible and the hidden, between the outer and the inner world. My art seeks to provoke reflection, dialogue, agreement or controversy, inviting the viewer to look beyond appearances.
